*** The unthinkable happened to my friend Allison and her husband Charlie eleven years ago.  They lost their precious son Grant when he was 4 years old.  Today he would be 15.  He lives on in their hearts, spirits and souls.  Allison is on a mission to help others by being someone's light.  She shines bright y'all!  Read her poignant words below.

"You can not die of grief, though it feels as if you can. A heart does not actually break, though sometimes your chest aches as if it is breaking. Grief dims with time. It is the way of things. Don't ever think that forgetting the sound of their voice, the sound of their laughter, or even things that they said is you forgetting THEM!! If I knew exactly when Grant was going to heaven I would have videoed everything he did!! It's ok to be happy and laugh. I can remember feeling guilty because I started to smile and laugh again. I thought that he was looking down on me and getting angry because I was having joyous moments without him! The fact of the matter is that all of the joyous moments in my life are BECAUSE of him!! That boy taught me how to love and be loved unconditionally. I thank God for Grant's spirit everyday!! If he had not taught me these things I truly believe I would not be any good for Lil Charlie! Thank you Grant because your little brother deserves all of that love YOU taught me about and more because I have to show him some love from you too!So here is my prayer for all reading this today.....Lord, please shine YOUR light on whomever is reading this post and thinking that they should not be smiling because they are grieving. I pray that you put that joy back into their hearts so that they can show others that it IS ok to smile again!! Amen.#besomeoneslight
