*** The unthinkable happened to my friend Allison and her husband Charlie eleven years ago. They lost their precious son Grant when he was 4 years old. Today he would be 15. He lives on in their hearts, spirits and souls. Allison is on a mission to help others by being someone's light. She shines bright y'all! Read her poignant words below. "You can not die of grief, though it feels as if you can. A heart does not actually break, though sometimes your chest aches as if it is breaking. Grief dims with time. It is the way of things. There comes a day when you smile again, and you feel like a traitor. How dare I feel happy. How dare I be glad in a world where my loved one is no more. And then you cry fresh tears, because you do not miss then as much as you once did, and giving up your grief is another kind of death."Laurell K.

Allison I am not in the Christmas spirit this year. It is the 2nd year that we lost my Dad and the first year of a brother in law and two cousins so it is hard to celebrate this year. I love your strength and all you do for others. Your two Charlie's are very blessed and lucky to have you so was Grant. Leave a Reply. |
