I've been a stay at home mom for six months.  Man has the time flown by! If you are a regular reader (i love you!) you know that I'm a mama to two adorable little boys and one naughty but beautiful little girl pug named Beulah.  This isn't the first post about the pug.  Check out http://mommyohhhh.weebly.com/1/post/2013/11/the-pug-life-chapter-1.html if you aren't familiar with my relationship with her.  In these past 6 months I've learned several things about Beulah.  They are as follows:
Picture
#1. She hates IRON MAN. With a passion. He doesn't even belong to her but she will sniff him out to torture him. He talks. She really doesn't like that.
Picture
#2. She stalks the baby and tries to steal his food. (banana peels aren't usually on my floor!)
Picture
#3. She is down with snuggling any time
Picture
#4. She likes the finer things in life: fresh out of the dryer aden + anais baby linens.
Picture
#5. She likes to nap with my oldest son. You know- the one that makes Darth Vader noises in her face. She never wants to nap with me... unless we are the only people home...
#6. She thinks UPS, Fed-ex, the girlscouts, the lawn guy, the candidate asking for our vote and the neighbor delivering a botched mail delivery are all trying to kill us. Mow-hawk up and everything.
#7. She likes to go outside about 73 times a day.  She tip-toes in the rain and snow while she secures the perimeter.
#8. She can nap upwards of 22 hours a day
#9. She's like a shark at meal time- circling the baby's high chair
#10 She totally gets on the table when we aren't home.  It's glass.  I see pug prints.  I'm no Colombo but she's the only animal in the house.
Picture
#11. While she has a dog bed, she also makes herself at home and uses any ole surface she likes when it's nap time (one of her nap-times). Here she is on the baby's prized Brobee pillow.
Picture
#12. Starting around 5:15- she sits on guard looking at the door waiting for Hot Husband (her boyfriend) to get home.

#13. I don't know what we'd do without her.  It brings a tear to my eye to even type that.  My three boys are so in love with her that we'd be devastated if something happened to her.

She is
AWESOME with our kids.  If you are thinking about getting a dog- call your local pug rescue folks.  You won't regret it.  They will hook you up and I bet you will fall madly in love the way we have.  (even if you are said pug's 4th or 5th favorite person in the world) You can probably expect your pug to require you to treat him/her like royalty~ but they are royalty.  You'll catch on soon.

Thanks for reading pretty people. Like MommyOhhhh on facebook if you haven't already.  (also notable that autocorrect sometimes changes pug to pig.)

My husband gave me an ipad for our anniversary a few years ago.  It was mine for a few days- until BIG took over.  It's really his and I occasionally get to use it.  I didn't realize that he's quite the photographer.  There were 600 pictures.  Well- there were 600 images of roughly these same 5 scenes.

Aren't you glad you stopped in today?  Hope you are having a great day!  If you ever get an ipad- hide it from your little people!

xoxo pretty people!

Picture
Nope- Not a Vogue cover shoot. My sweet friend Z and her "wolf pack" at the beach. On a random day. Ummmm- sure looks like they are enjoying the day. I have total picture envy. About everything. The beach. The sand. The sun set. The HOT mama in sunglasses with two adorable little people... Hopefully this is framed in your house somewhere Zinnia.
Picture
I confess. Every week I stalk your pictures on Facebook and instagram.  There were some AWESOME pictures this week.  But what was even better is what the folks said about them.

I asked my friend Stan if I could use his picture of his gorgeous daughter Sierra- it just spoke to me, her smile, the lighting, the cup, the crayon in her hands... everything.  He (of course- since you are seeing it!) said yes.  But not only did he say yes- he also said that he reminds her that it's most important to be beautiful on the inside.  That and that girls that smile are the prettiest.  I would say he captured the moment perfectly.  Such a lucky little lady to have a dad that shows her that physical beauty isn't the most important thing.

Picture
Ohhhhhh sweet Charlie. I want to gobble him up! Words can't express how much I love him and his family. Totally jealous of his big blue eyes. I could go on and on about him and his beautiful sisters and mama. But I will save that for another day.
Picture
You know I love pictures of kids working/helping!  So I had to ask to use this one.  My friend Holly has three kids.  Pictured here are her youngest and oldest.  Big brother decided to help mom out by helping feed baby sister. Just look at how focused Josh is- he's clearly taking his job very seriously.  Makes my heart melt!

This last picture is of my friend Andrea and her three boys.  I love so much about this picture I will have to list.  1. All three are taller than her.  2. Crystal Cove! 3. The smiles and the pride that this little mama has in her three amigos.

So sweet of y'all to let me share your pictures.  It always makes me smile to look at them and it seems like this photo round up has quickly become a reader favorite.  So- a million thanks!

If you haven't already- like MommyOhhhh on facebook!

My beautiful friends Kim and Camille- enjoying pre-k mardi gras activities. (two circles around the carpool pick-up line and bead throwing!)
For some reason I really miss being at Mardi Gras this year.  Maybe it's because my friend Kim texted me that they were renting a house in NOLA and asked us to meet them.  As a family.  As in kid friendly.  Well-  as kid friendly as Mardi Gras can be.  {no daniel tiger.  no easy bathroom access on the parade routes.  no clear double stroller paths. no unlimited grilled cheese or apple juice supply- really the only super kid friendly place is my house if I'm being totally honest here.  but I digress...}    If you haven't been to Louisiana for Mardi Gras, you don't know what you are missing.  It's also probably not what you think it is either.

One of my best friends showing that New Orleans Mardi Gras is kid friendly and kid approved.
PictureBeautiful masked ladies!
Well, it's some of what you think.  But it's not all what the non-Louisiana press makes it out to be.  Sure there is debauchery- that's why it takes place the (fat!) Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.  So you can get it all out of your system before lent.

But it's more than that.  It's parades.  It's black tie balls with women in gorgeous gowns (puts the oscars to shame y'all!)  It's community.  My best Mardi Gras experience was when I was at LSU and my BFF Marci signed us up for a little chicken chasing expedition in Eunice Louisiana.  Yep- Mardi Gras isn't just in the big city pretty people. If you don't know about this tradition read about it here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courir_de_Mardi_Gras ).

Not sure if you know this about me but I'm a city girl.  I think chickens come from the grocery store.  De-feathered, deboned and sometimes even cooked for me...  So while there was revelry- it was more about community.  My best memory of the day isn't even really about the day itself.  It's about sitting at Marci's grandmother's house (hi Momee!) my making costumes with Marci, Erin and Deb. (similar to the picture of Peyton above) Giggling. Buring our fingers with hot glue guns.  Joking and enjoying life and each other.

So while the chicken chasing isn't really my thing- being with friends certainly is.  So next year I will do everything in my power to get down there- meet up with my friends and Laissez les bons temps roulr! (for those of you not as fluent in french as I am- that means let the good times roll!)

Happy fat tuesday y'all!

Picture
While these are not Momee's crawfish- she makes the best crawfish etouffee on the planet. Just typing that makes my stomach growl. Thanks to my sweet friend Lee Ann for letting me use her crawfish picture. Now if I could just find some good crawfish in Memphis I'd be a happy reveler

LITTLE is the flash!
PictureHe used to call Spiderman Filderman

Did you read my post in November called the list: clothing? {{Link provided for easy reference! http://mommyohhhh.weebly.com/1/post/2013/11/the-list-clothing.html  }} It's where I admitted that I said my kids would never wear character gear.  Clearly I'm a liar.
Picture
I also said no sports gear at one time in my life
But in my defense- I never meant to lie.  I didn't want them to wear this stuff.  Until- BIG fell in love with YO GABBA GABBA and he just haaaaaadddddd to have the muno shirt.  And when LITTLE came along- he decided he is bonkers about Spiderman (who he calls superman- but he also calls superman superman, so there is a bit of confusion there- but give him a break he's not even 2- it's hard to keep them all straight!) and the hulk and Ah-ka (Captain America!)
So while I'm not saying that LITTLE is iron man or that BIG is Batman- I will plant this seed: I've never seen either of them in the same room as iron man or batman.  As my dad would like to say- that's something that makes you go hmmmmm...

Is there something that you said you would NEVER do pre-kids that you do now?  Light up shoes perhaps?  Fast food?  Confess!

Hope you had a great weekend with your pretty people.

I want a wedding do-over.  Not because there was anything wrong- on the contrary- everything was just right! Perfect in fact.  I just want to do it again.  It was one of the best nights of my life.  Plus I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. I received a save the date the other day and the bride and groom are getting married at our venue.

Picture
I mean how often do you get to wear a big beautiful wedding gown? And be surrounded by all your friends and family? When was the last time you had a slice of steak cake? Or asked the DJ and venue to please stay open for another hour because we are having too much fun to leave...

These pictures remind me that I'm the luckiest girl in the world.  Don't worry Becca- I won't wear my big wedding gown to your big day (such a shame we can't wear them again!).  I will sit, smile and quietly reminisce about the day I became Mrs Hot Husband and hope that you and Blake are as happy as we are.

Hope you are having a great day! TGIF! IF you aren't already- follow MommyOhhhh on facebook.

One of my favorite sandwiches in the world. It gives me a great food memory and makes me miss my old college roommates. Not that they are old... #saucehead #auntdedda #bird! (why am I using #?) You too #KatieK!
Picture
I can't get enough of LITTLE- I want to gobble him up and wake him when he's sleeping to play. That being said he's messy, grabby, silly, fussy, funny, adorable, sassy, smart and amazing- just perfect!
Picture

I was looking at some of my pictures and I started to meander down memory lane.  No real reason for this post but to show you a few things that make me smile.

Picture
Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side. Is it just me- or should this be a record cover? Do they still make record covers? If so- we will gladly sell this image. I know I would buy this record!
Picture
I could spend hours in Off Square Books in Oxford, MS. Especially if I had extra spending money!
Picture
The crib has been lowered. The painting has been yanked off the wall. He's no longer this itty bitty... but it makes me smile to see his little fuzz head. I rock at making babies!
Picture
We took a trip to Birmingham for our anniversary a few years ago.  I was obsessed with trying Flip Burger boutique.  It certainly didn't disappoint.  Here Hot Husband is enjoying a shake.  Great- now I want a shake!  It was soooooo delish.  We will go back.  Hopefully sooner rather than later!

Picture
What?!?! I can't hear you. I have dog slippers over my ears.
Hope you are having a great day and enjoying a few simple moments and some happy memories!

Most adorable family in the OC!
Picture
Y'all know I love your pictures.  I also love sharing them (with permission of course!) It makes me so happy to be able to share some of the images that made me smile this week.

When I saw the above picture of Heather and Sam and their two beautiful little girls- I had to show it to y'all.  It took me about 3 seconds to message them to see if I could use this picture.  Thankfully they said yes.  I love so many things about this.  Mostly that these two high school sweethearts have an amazing family and live life to the fullest.  These two have been setting an example of love, faith and family to me for years.  I am lucky to know them- and to have been a witness at their wedding.

My friend Courtney has a little boy Henry that is about LITTLE's age.  We were pregnant together- and had our boys about 2 weeks apart.  When I see her pictures I can usually relate to what's going on in them.  Here Henry HADDDDD to stick his foot in his yogurt.  Who doesn't do that, right?  Sweet boy!

Picture
I love this picture not only because my friend Andrea and her son are in it- but because it's stunning. I am partial to the mama and son pictures because- guess why... yep- I have sons! This one shows me how much he loves his mom and how happy they are to be spending time together at the book store. Why this girl isn't a model I don't know. Wish I could be hanging out with my boys at the book store with them! (But we'd probably be pulling books off the shelves and eating the pages!)
Picture
There is nothing I love more than a picture of putting a kid to work!  This is the best snow picture I've seen this year because Jonathan LOVES shoveling snow!  He was dressed and ready so fast that his mama didn't even have time to finish getting ready herself.  I love how he makes the chore fun.  Wish we lived closer so my boys could play with Jennifer's boys.

Picture
This little girl is not only adorable but sweet as can be! She just celebrated her 2nd birthday and is the pride and joy of her mom, dad and big brother's lives. This little missy will steal your heart in a second. After living in a house full of boys- her mama gets to pink it up a bit.
Thanks everyone for sharing your pictures with me.  I am so lucky to have such amazing people surrounding me.  Hope everyone has a great day.

My attempt at hand lettering BIG's first birthday cake. I file this into "it's the thought that counts" folder
Picture
Remember how I told you yesterday that I outsource my cakes?  (You did read yesterday, didn't you?) Well, here is why.  In the picture above you can see my cake decorating skills are along the lines of a free handed drunk graphic designer brainstorming the concept of the writing in the nightmare before Christmas.  So after BIG's first birthday I realized that I needed some help.  And I wasn't too proud to ask for it.

Picture
LITTLE's first birthday cake.
Picture
At the same time I realized I needed help, my friend Deatra started decorating cakes professionally.  It was a sign from above.  Clearly I do not have the skills to make a cake that looks presentable and she does.  So it's a no brainer.  You may remember that I suggested using her services around the holidays to trick people into thinking you made the cake.  Clearly you can see that I wouldn't be able to pull that off since there are still many living witnesses to the cake I made for BIG's first birthday. Any-who- I now have a personal cake person.  I feel like a celebrity.  You can have the celebrity treatment too if you email Deatra at [email protected].   I realize everyone isn't always thinking about cake the way LITTLE does (he asks for cake daily!) but you should get in touch with her if you have an event coming up.  I know she books up fast because her cakes are not only gorgeous and delicious but also super reasonably priced.

And the cookies.  Dear God the cookies!  I mentioned in passing that it would be cute to get some little trolley cake pops because the boys are obsessed with the trolley (ding! ding!). Deatra said do you think you want a cake and cake pops?  Ummmm... probably not.  Then she said well, let me think of something.  And she did.  Trolley cookies.  OMG.  The pictures don't even do them justice.  They were stunning.  I almost didn't want to eat them.  But I did.

About a week after BIG's party I saw that PBS had a link to a daniel tiger birthday party. { All
http://www.pbs.org/parents/birthday-parties/daniel-tiger-birthday-party/food/daniel-tiger-birthday-cake/} All I can say is I think she outdid them.

Picture
Daniel tiger cake.

You should never feel bad asking for help. Or cake. Or cake help. Hope you had a great day pretty people!

Picture
It happened last month.  BIG turned 4.  I knew it was coming- but I didn't realize it would just sneak up on me like it did.  I mean sure I was planning his party, buying his gifts and ordering his cake (remind me to tell y'all why I outsource my cakes! If you are a mid-southerner, you NEED to use my cake girl. But I will write that story at a later day.) but in the middle of all that- he was turing 4.  My little egg man.  The best part of it for me was seeing him run, jump and play with his little amigos.  I know it's crazy to wish I could stop the clock- so I won't wish for that.  I would just like to ask father time to tick slowly.  I'm not ready for him to grow up and not need me.  I know that's a long time away- but I've heard the expression long days fast years and I don't like it one little bit.

That being said- Cheers to the 4th year anniversary of having this amazing little BIG person in my life. I am the luckiest mama alive.

Hope you are having a great day!
xoxo

Picture8 weeks in this beast of a cast!
I was going to go into the whole big long story about BIG's broken femur.  And each time I started to type it, I would cry.  So you aren't going to get it - at least not today pretty people.  What you will get is that BIG has a clean bill of health after his check up appointment.  Without violating hippa laws- we are, to quote the super star broken femur doctor "healing perfectly."

Picture
The seal at the Memphis zoo was very interested in BIG and his bright orange cast
Picture
Here is HH giving cast tats.  It gave BIG the biggest smile ever.  He loves the Yo Gabba Gabba gang like they are part of the family.

So as I bid you good day I will say this: I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Stay safe and be glad you aren't in a body cast!

If we aren't already friends- like MommyOhhhh on facebook.

Picture
More preferential treatment at the Memphis zoo. The animals were big time interested in BIG

PictureLucy- you are so soft
I'm sure you've heard of Theo & Beau (or #theoandbeau) If not you can check them out here.  http://www.boredpanda.com/toddler-napping-with-puppy-theo-and-beau/
They are adorable!  They've made dog loving both fashionable and all the rage in the blogger world.  But We've been doing that for YEARS!  Nearly 4 of them!

Just like that duo- BIG loves dogs.  Like crazy.  And it's not just one dog in particular the way Theo does. BIG loves: Big dogs.  Little dogs.  Hound dogs.  Pugs.  Chihuahua's. All of them. He has always loved them.  Which is great.

Picture
Hank, Where are you going? I'll go with you
PictureBeulah I can walk like you!
Except he has no fear of them. At. All.  Not that I want him to be afraid of dogs- or anything for that matter- but a little healthy fear isn't a horrible thing.  {LITTLE likes dogs too but he has the healthy fear}

There is something so very sweet about how this child interacts with dogs.  It makes my heart happy.  I wish you could see him carry around my sister-in-law's little dog Penny.  It's a sight to see.

Thanks for reading pretty people.  I wuff (get it?!?) all the support you've been giving me these last few weeks. Hope you are having a great day! If we aren't already friends- follow MommyOhhhh on facebook!

IF you have pictures of your pretty little people with dogs- post them on my page so I can see.  Y'all know I love pictures!

Picture
Penny! Penny!! Penny!!!

The above picture is of our friend Joe's 1936 Ford.  That he rebuilt.  Himself.  He rebuilt this car.  With his hands.  Are y'all as amazed by that as I am?  This is no hoax- Hot Husband and I were at his house not too long ago and saw him working on it.  It's incredible.  I'm not a big car person- but this is a stunner.  And Joe is the kinda guy that can do anything.  I think that's why HH has a man-crush on him.  If I had a nickel for every time I've heard "Joe could..." or "Joe can..." I'd be rich.  So lucky that we have Joe and his sweet wife Terry in our lives.  (We still owe y'all BBQ dinner sometime!)
Picture
We all have that one mom friend who makes it all look soooooooooo easy, right?  Well, I've been lucky enough to have that friend for {gasp} nearly 25 years.  She doesn't just make being a mom look easy- she makes EVERYTHING look easy. And fun.  I wish we lived closer because she's the kind of person who is passionate about everything she does and that is contagious. Plus if we lived closer, I could have helped her cut out 70 mustaches for her son's valentines treats.  While not a lovey dovey huggy person- Here is a virtual hug to my fabulous friend Briana.  {hug}

Picture
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture! I actually have picture envy with this one. I wish it was one of my boys trying to pet a fish with ducks walking all about. Nice work mama Kim!
Picture
I don't even know what the phrase "rock chalk" means- but seeing this cutie pie makes me want to scream it out loud just to show how adorable I think this is.  Not sure my boys would be this calm, cool and collected next to this guy- but Juliette is poised and sweet as always.

Hope everyone is having a great day today.  Thanks to everyone who let me use their pictures.  If we aren't real life friends- follow MommyOhhhh on facebook!

Picture
Ok, I am super allergic to cats- but I have a feeling I wouldn't care about the sneezing, puffy face and runny nose if I could cuddle with this cutie. Sweet Danielle is lucky to have such a perfect feline! Move over grumpy cat- this one has you beat!

I call this spaghetti face. I smile every single time I see it. It never gets old. Sure it takes a minimum of two baths to fully wash away the oompa-loompah coloring but it's totally worth it.  Hope you enjoy your meals today as much as these little munchkins enjoy spaghetti face.

P.S.- I am also a big fan of Oreo face.

Hope you have a great day!

Picture
My kids have GREAT hair.  Not just great hair but GREAT GREAT GREAT super awesome hair! That's why it's so hard for me to cut it.  It's not that I am a big hippy where I want my boys to have long hair or that I wish I had little girls. That's not the case at all.  I just looooooove BIG and LITTLE's hair.

Picture
So I find myself pushing the haircuts back a bit.  BIG isn't keen on the cut- LITTLE doesn't mind so much.  We go to a special kids place where you can watch a video while you get your trim.  I know I should take them more so they get used to it, but it's so hard.  Look at this hair.  Do you blame me?

Are there any parenting things you put off because you don't like it?  (I am also not a fan of nail trimming- since a friend of mine nearly cut off his daughter's finger while clipping her nails!)

Happy Monday pretty people.  I hope you are having a great day!

PictureIt was too wet to play
Ok, we don't technically live in the city of brotherly love.  Not even close actually.  We are closer to Philadelphia, MS. (It's a real place- check it out.  It has a big water-park and everything!) the actual brotherly love one in PA. In the spirit of Valentine's day I wanted to share something I love with y'all.  I LOVE that these two little boys are becoming great friends.

Here are a few more things I love:
1. Max wakes up he starts yelling "Jaaaaacccckkkkk"
2. When Max is napping- Jack goes to his bedroom door to take a peek inside.
3. That they play together.  Usually without incident.

Picture
Mostly I love that they have each other.

I'm lucky enough to have a sister that is my best friend. I hope, as my boys grow that they not only love each other but really like one another as well.

Hope you are having a beautiful day pretty people.  If you like it~share it!

xoxo

Picture
We didn't have flower girls in our wedding but this picture makes me regret that. My favorite thing about this picture is what the adorable mommy said about it. "They think this big day is about them." It is mommy- it is!
PicturePhoto by Nicole Price
Alright pretty people- hopefully by now you know that I stalk your pictures.  Not in a koo-koo crazy kinda way (don't crazy stalkers say that though?) I am bonkers about them!  I love what y'all take pictures of and what you share on social media.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures (from some of my favorite people) this week.

My friend Nicole travels ALLLLLL the time.  She took this stunning Chicago pic from the air.  It literally took my breath away.  A city I love from that high- with snow covered beaches.  I'm in love!

Here we have our friend Troy- and his adorable little girl Maggie.  Maggie is a firecracker!   Would love to be a fly on the wall for this conversation.  I love this shot because it shows how much these two love each-other. This will probably be a framed picture she takes when she leaves for college in 15 years.  It just captures them.  I'm lucky they are in our lives!

Picture
I love how my friend Shelby puts her little people to work! Somehow she gets them to BEG to do chores! Please send Ayla and Charlie to my house to help. Love and miss y'all!
Picture
My friend Tony posted this picture of his mom and uncle Rick.  There is so much I love about this picture it's crazy.  Even though I don't know them- I know they would be fun to hang out with.

Thanks to everyone who let me use their pictures.  You are all lucky to have these experiences and people in your lives.

XOXO!

Let me start out by saying that I LOVE*LOVE*LOVE magazines and movies!  I just think they get the concept of love all wrong.  Well- mostly wrong.  But remember these same magazine and movie folks are the people that tell you it's ok to wear a blazer and shorts to a job interview.  That being said- most of what you see/read is suspect.

If you know us in real life you know Hot Husband (HH) and I are in looooooooove.  For real love.  Not the silly portrayal of love you see in the movies and in magazines. That is not real.  Those people are actors and models.  So while we look like a couple you could easily see on the runway or the red carpet- we are just real every day people.  Cut us and we bleed pretty people.  Ok, you get it.  So it always makes me raise an eye brow when I see articles and advertisements with folks doing "coupley" stuff.
Picture
Like Banana Republic.  I heart them soooooooo much!  I would love to ride a bike on the handlebars with HH.  In the snow!  Past a candy store!! In heels, a miniskirt and a fur cuff sweater!!! But that probably won't ever happen.  (I could fall off & break a hip!) What did happen is that he gave me a beautiful bike so we'll ride together (separately) once it warms up a bit.
Hotel stays!  I love a good hotel.  Make that a GREAT hotel! The Madison in Memphis (engaged there!) The James in Chicago (Bachelorette party there!) The Alluvian hotel (Anniversary get-away!) in Clarksdale, MS. Mama loves a bit of luxury! That being said, You will NEVER see us check into our room, put our shoes on the fancy 8 million thread count sheets & jump on the bed.  Never. Ever. Ever. That doesn't mean we aren't just as happy as these two- (we are actually happier because we know each other) we just don't behave like a couple of wild monkeys jumpin' on the bed.  (one could fall off and bump one's head!)
Picture
Exercise.  I don't even know what to say. I'd probably burn more calories laughing at HH in a sexy beast workout class then I would doing the actual moves.  All this to say that love in real life is wayyyyyy better than it is in the magazines.

Someone who really loves you carves your initials into a tree.  Takes a picture of it.  Frames it.  Hangs it on your wall and loves you every day- even days when you don't feel like a sexy beast.

Thanks for reading!  Hope you have a happy hump day!
xoxo

PictureOne of my favorite scarves- HOT HUSBAND's grandmother MADE it for me! <3!
I will start with the cons- why not be different, right?

1. Can feel like you have the hottest neck in the world

2. Can be used as a leash by Children

3. Can make your busom look large(r)

4. Can make you feel like you are being choked.

5. Can get stuck in a car door

6. Kids wipe hands/noses on it.  (I know- gross, right?!)

7. You always wonder- am I wearing this thing right?  Or do I look ridiculous?

Pro's:
1. Makes you feel stylish (after you convince yourself you are wearing it right)
2. Hides double chins
3. Quick sunglasses cleaner
4. LITTLE uses it to reel me in for a kiss
5. Protects shirts from coffee and soup spills
6. Keeps neck warm
7. Can be used to wipe up minor spills
8. Can be used as an impromptu super-hero cape.

I didn't spend a ton of time on the regular function- to keep warm, but I live in Mississippi and the function part of a scarf isn't really needed here- except for 4 or 5 days a year.  That being said- Have I missed any other scarf pro's or cons?  Please share your feelings!  If you have a scarf lover in your life send him or her the link! Thanks my pretty people!

My grade-school BFF has a daughter about 6 weeks older than BIG. Both are little here. Which means we need to get them together again soon. So they can start falling in love and we can start wedding planning! Spring 2024 y'all!

One of the best things about having friends with kids around the same age as BIG and LITTLE is that I get to multi-task play dates so Hot Husband and I can hang out with our friends too. All without needing to call a baby sitter.  Which is a total win for all involved.

We were able to go to a pretty cool hip restaurant with HH's best friend and their gorgeous little girl to celebrate his birthday.  I think we may have had a spilled drink and bucket of crayons but overall there was minimal fussing and the foxy dad's got to enjoy each-other's company with a cold one while my mommy friend Mary-Lee and I got to visit.  And not cook- or clean up, so we were thrilled!

hello little baby jackson! when we can walk and talk we will make these ladies chase us all over the place. ~LITTLE
Picturefriends that bathe together...
So what's really great is that the kids get to see each-other and grow up together and have life long friendships.  So it may just seem like BIG is going to Mike the tiger's birthday celebration on the arm of two foxy little ladies while I visit with my old LSU pal (& #1 non-related Fan!) Messica or LITTLE is just painting with his BFF Henry (And if you get super dirty- you just take a quick bath.  No big deal, right?) while I catch up with my friend Courtney.  But it's more than that.  We all get to play and everyone wins.  Except the babysitter.  She's out about $10 bucks an hour.  Sorry Lauren- we still love you!!

Hope you are having a great Monday pretty people.  xoxo

Foxiest LSU fans ever!

I'm not really a magnet person- In that I don't collect magnets or go out of my way to buy them (unless I'm at the Loretta Lynn gift shop with MRD, DGM or JAP). But sometimes you see one that is so cute you just HAVE to have it. Right? Right! Wellllllll... There is a company called stickygram.  They turn your instagram pictures into magnets.  Because I have an obsession with Instagram (and obviously my adorable family!) these are clearly THE BEST MAGNETS ever!

Or art as I use mine. I ordered a set and framed it for Hot Husband for father's day one year.  They were just too cute to break up and use to hold grocery lists, coupons or dry cleaning tickets. But you- use yours anyway you like. So go to www.stickygram.com and uload your favorite instagram picthures. Right now! Go! They are running a special with code FRIENDOKFB. This will bring your shipped magnets (or art if you are like me!) down to only $10.99 from $14.99. Now that is a steal!

Oh yeah- another thing I love is a sale! Happy Friday pretty people.

If you are an everyday reader you know I'm only on facebook and instagram to look at all of your pictures. And I mean ALLLLL of them!  That's kinda my thing.  So I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from last week with you.

Welcome to the world baby Leif! He's HH's cousin's baby and pictures don't even do this super-model baby justice.
Picture
It has pictures of new life (welcome to the world Leif and Rayne! your parents are so glad you are both here and healthy! ), fancy purses and four legged snowy friends.  Bippity-Boppity-Boo! These are a few of my favorite things!

Picture
Glad we don't have this kinda snow here in Memphis- but it would be fun to watch the boys romp around like these two.

My sweet friend bought this for herself as an early valentines gift. I like her style and how she thinks! I'd like to think our discussion about fancy bags a few weeks ago helped push her over the edge.  xoxo CD!

Little Rayne is not only going to win the strongest baby in the world contest but she is also sheer Perfection!
Hope you enjoyed them as much as I did my pretty people.  And really- HOW STINKIN' CUTE ARE THOSE BABIES?!?

xoxo my pretty people!

There is a really quick way to my heart.  It's by looking at my boys.  So I was THRILLED to wake up this morning to a text from our sweet family photographer/friend Stace at SCPhotography.  The message was short and sweet : I was playing with my new waterlogue ap on some of my favorite pictures. I love this one. I DO TOO!

What a great way to wake up.  My day was made by 7:30.  I can't say this enough- some of the best money I've spent has been having a REAL photographer take real family pictures.  It's amazing to see how BIG's personality is captured perfectly in these two pictures.  So while I had a million things to do on my to-do list today, I will add two more.  #1. Get waterlogue ap. #2. Send Stace a thank you note.  For not only making my day but reminding me to slow down, enjoy the sunshine (if we ever have it again) and laugh.

No~These are not celebrities.  They are my people. I love that there is paparazzi kinda feel here.  Almost as if you'd see them while flipping through a People magazine.

So while they may not be celebs to the world at large- they are to me! Actually more special and more important than your run of the mill movie or reality star.

Hope you are having a great day my pretty!

My friend's daughter Ephie is HILARIOUS! If you missed the president's state of the union address last week- have no fear, here are the Ephie notes.  She's 4.

Live updates from a 4 year old watching the SOTU: is that his wife, why is he hugging her? We are not there because we would get Barack Obama sick.

8:18 PM
Ephie: I would like him to start playing with kids and stop being president. That would change the world.

8:22 PM
Ephie on SOTU: Too many Americans live in the old times.

8:28 PM
Ephie on Boehner: When you are old, you just get a really runny nose. And that is okay.

8:30 PM
"The environment can be a better place if we looove," Ephie my flower child.

8:38 PM
"Is he asking to get a better job? Maybe he should play with his kids"

Why are you clapping? "Because everyone else was," Ephie the rank and file preschooler.

8:54 PM
Ephie on why some people are not standing and clapping: Maybe some people need to save energy to walk to the car after he is done talking.

9:09 PM
"Why is he sad?" Asks Ephie. "Who, John Kerry?" I answered. "Yes, the sad man. Maybe someone sold his house."

9:18 PM
Ephie asked if we could be done watching the SOTU. So, I asked her to tell me one thing that she learned. "I didn't even know that green neckties with stars existed."

9:45 PM
I just tucked Ephie into bed and she said that she likes Barack Obama because he jabbers.
